Terms of Use.
By using TodoWeekend, you agree to these terms. They're short and written in plain English.
The service
TodoWeekend is a free bilingual events directory. Currently live in 10 cities across 8 countries, with new cities launching constantly. The canonical list of supported cities, together with the secondary language served on each, is the homepage at todoweekend.com. We aggregate event listings from public municipal and venue sources, score and sort them, and present them on a map and in list views. The plan builder uses Claude (Anthropic) to assemble itineraries from the catalog.
We provide this service as a genuine public good. There's no paywall, no premium tier, and no paid placement — events are ranked by our public scoring algorithm, which you can read about on the Sources page.
Data accuracy — important
Event data (names, dates, times, prices, descriptions, images, venue addresses) comes from third-party sources listed on the Sourcespage. We don't independently verify every listing. Sources can and do contain errors, stale data, cancellations we haven't picked up yet, or last-minute changes.
Always confirm with the venue or official source before you go. Every event page has a link to the original source and to the venue's page when available. Don't blame us if a concert gets moved — we're doing our best but we're a small team and the world is chaotic.
Intellectual property
Event metadata comes from three kinds of sources: (1) municipal open-data portals where they exist, such as datos.madrid.es and esMadrid for Madrid, OpenData BCN for Barcelona, and opendata.paris.fr for Paris, licensed under CC-BY 4.0 or equivalent and credited to the issuing authority on every event; (2) official venue calendars for theatres, museums, concert halls and cultural institutions in each city, where we keep facts (names, dates, times, prices) and paraphrase prose descriptions; and (3) Ticketmaster's Discovery API for ticketed events not covered by (1) or (2). Full per-city attribution and licensing lives on each city's Sources page.
Our editorial work — the scoring algorithm, the writing, the site design, the curated summaries — is ours. You're free to link to any page on TodoWeekend. If you want to reproduce any of our editorial content or scoring rationale programmatically, email us first.
Event images come from three places: (1) open-licensed sources we're permitted to redistribute, scraped from the originating venue or municipal page; (2) Google Custom Search for events without a usable source image, credited with the upstream host; (3) a small number of AI-generated images (Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) marked as such. When none of those yield a usable image, a branded fallback card renders instead. We do not redistribute copyrighted flyer imagery without licence.
If you're a rights holder
Venue, artist, organizer, publisher: if something on TodoWeekend shouldn't be here, or is wrong, email hello@todoweekend.com. Our policy:
- Takedown — we remove content within 48 hours, no legal letter required. Include the URL or event name.
- Correction— same address; we'll fix the record and note the source.
- Crawler abuse — our ingest bot identifies as
TodoWeekendBot/1.0. If it's hitting your site too hard or ignoring robots.txt, email us and we'll fix it within 24 hours.
Full sourcing policy and tier-by-tier commitments are on the Sources page.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or mirror the catalog. Automated access that exceeds one request per second, enumerates event URLs in bulk, or mirrors the site (in whole or part) to another domain is prohibited. Our sitemaps, llms.txt and ai.txt declare what well-behaved crawlers may do; anything beyond that is not acceptable use.
- Hit our APIs without permission. The endpoints under
/api/*(plan builder, Lola chatbot, search, contact, newsletter, flag, bookmarks) are not a public API. They're implementation details of our own UI. A keyed API for third-party use is on the roadmap — until it ships, programmatic access is not allowed. When it ships, a published rate plan and licence will apply. - Train models on our content without a licence. You may not ingest TodoWeekend pages, the event catalog, editor's picks, scoring rationale, descriptions or images into any machine-learning training dataset (commercial or open-source) without our written permission. Real-time AI assistants citing us with attribution are explicitly welcome — training corpora are not.
- Abuse the plan builder or Lola chatbot. They're for human-interactive itinerary building. Spam, jailbreak attempts, prompt injection, system-prompt extraction, or using them as a free LLM proxy are all prohibited.
- Republish our editorial output. Our scoring algorithm, the ranked Editor's Picks lists, curated summaries and the site design are ours. You're free to link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. Reproduction of whole sections, or systematic re-publication of our ranking, requires written permission.
- Submit other people's data. Newsletter signups, contact forms and flags must be submitted using your own identity and email address.
- Use the site for OSINT or contact harvesting. Mining venue contact details, organizer names, attendee information, or other personal data from the catalog is prohibited.
Our event metadata comes from public, openly-licensed sources; those upstream feeds remain freely usable under their own licences and we encourage you to go there directly. Email hello@todoweekend.com and we'll point you at the right feed.
We reserve the right to block IP addresses, networks, or user-agents; revoke API tokens once issued; and pursue legal action for violations of these restrictions — including injunctive relief, costs and damages. If you're doing something useful and respectful at scale, reach out first. We'd rather cooperate than block.
No warranty
TodoWeekend is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the site will be available, accurate, bug-free, or that any specific event will happen as listed. We don't accept liability for any loss (financial, travel, emotional) caused by relying on information on the site.
If you bought a non-refundable train ticket to see an event that turned out to be cancelled: we're genuinely sorry, but we're not paying for it.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be dated at the top of this page. Continued use of the site means you accept the revised terms.
