Cookie Policy.
TodoWeekend uses a small set of analytics and mapping tools to understand how the site is used and to render the map. No advertising, no profiling, no data sharing with ad networks. Last updated 18 April 2026.
What we use
These services set cookies, local storage entries, or otherwise process your request on page load:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) — aggregate, non-identifying traffic analytics: page views, scroll depth, click events, city and locale dimensions. Loaded from
googletagmanager.com. IP anonymization is on by default in GA4 since 2023. No advertising features, no remarketing audiences, no Google Signals. - Vercel Analytics— cookieless, privacy-preserving page view counts and web vitals. Runs server-side from Vercel's edge and does not set identifying cookies. Vercel Analytics privacy policy.
- CARTO basemaps — the map on every city page loads vector tiles from
basemaps.cartocdn.com. Your IP address is visible to CARTO as part of the HTTP request. CARTO does not receive any event, bookmark, or identifying data from TodoWeekend. - Browser-local storage— your saved events (bookmarks) and this notice's “got it” state are stored in your browser's
localStorage. Never sent to our servers.
Why
Analytics tell us which cities, categories, and events people actually open, so we can invest effort where it matters and retire ingestion for sources nobody reads. The map needs tiles to render. That's the whole list of purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or share analytics data. We do not build advertising audiences. We do not run retargeting.
What we do not use
- Facebook / Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any advertising pixel.
- Social sharing widgets from Twitter / Facebook / LinkedIn.
- Session replay (Hotjar, FullStory, Microsoft Clarity, etc.).
- A/B testing or personalization cookies.
- Any affiliate or commission-tracking cookie.
Your choices today
A small notice at the bottom of the page discloses the tools above. A proper consent banner with per-category toggles (required under GDPR) is in active development and will ship before the end of April 2026. In the meantime you can:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser settings — Chrome, Safari and Firefox all expose this.
- Install a tracker-blocking extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger) — the site remains fully functional with analytics blocked.
- Ask us to delete any identifier we might still hold linked to your session: hello@todoweekend.com.
How long cookies stay on your device
Cookie lifetime is set by each tool and controlled by your browser, not by us. Typical defaults:
- GA4 (
_ga,_ga_*) — up to two years from your most recent visit. Clearing site data in your browser removes them immediately. - GTM itself does not set identifying cookies; any cookies are set by the tags it loads (GA4 above).
- Vercel Analytics — cookieless; no persistent identifier is stored in your browser.
- CARTO basemap tiles — no identifying cookie; tile responses use standard HTTP caching controlled by your browser.
- Our own
localStorage(bookmarks, the “got it” state of the notice below) — kept until you clear your browser data.
You can delete all of the above at any time from your browser's privacy settings. On the analytics side, Google sets retention on their servers independently; we do not change those defaults.
